Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the launch of the Foreign Trade Information Portal developed by the Information and Decision Support Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The portal serves as Egypt’s largest integrated national platform for foreign trade data. It offers exporters, investors, and manufacturers access to more than 60 million data records from sources including the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, and the International Trade Centre.
Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid said the platform addresses increasing complexity in international trade by enabling data-driven decisions. It covers approximately 6,650 product categories under the Harmonized System Code and provides details on exports, imports, market trends, and trade opportunities.
IDSC Chairperson Osama El-Gohary described the portal as the country’s first national reference platform for trade and industrial data. He noted it integrates local and international databases to deliver real-time information on global demand trends, market comparisons, and non-tariff barriers.
Future plans include integration with databases from the Ministry of Industry and the Industrial Development Authority to offer further insights into industrial incentives and investment opportunities.
