Milly Gudding, eight, from Molkom has climbed Kebnekaise's south peak via the demanding eastern route together with her father and uncle.
The summit tour took a total of 13 hours and required both glacier hiking and rope climbing. Milly wore a helmet, harness and rope during the trek.
At the start by the mountain's foot, Milly thought it would be tough, but she never lost heart during the hike. She described the joy of reaching the top.
Kebnekaise's south peak measures 2,096.8 meters above sea level. The eastern route is considerably harder than the western one and demands alpine skills.
Father Marco Gudding stressed that it was about doing something fun and developmental together, rather than being the youngest to take the route.
