Apple TV has greenlit a new half-hour comedy starring Elizabeth Banks as a divorcée navigating her father's retirement community escapades. Apple TV announced a new comedy series starring and executive-produced by Elizabeth Banks. In the untitled show, Banks plays Heidi, a recent divorcée seeking a vibrant second chapter for herself and her children. Her plans take a turn when she begins coordinating sex dates at her father's retirement community, leading to a partnership with her father's girlfriend's single son, as per the official logline first reported by TVLine. The project comes from creators Liz Heldens, known for 'The Passage' and 'Friday Night Lights,' and Matt Ward, whose credits include 'The Big Leap' and 'Madam Secretary.' Both will serve as showrunners and executive producers. Heldens currently co-showruns ABC's 'Will Trent,' which was renewed for a fifth season in April. An ABC representative confirmed to TVLine that Heldens will continue in that role with no changes planned. Jonathan Krisel, director of 'Adults,' will helm the pilot and executive produce alongside Banks, Max Handelman, Krissy Wall, Quinn Haberman, Jason Winer, and Jon Radler. Filming is slated to start in Los Angeles sometime in 2026.
