eufy has introduced three new models in its FamiLock smart lock series that emphasize on-device biometric processing for enhanced privacy. The lineup includes options for facial recognition, palm vein scanning, and fingerprint access without subscriptions or cloud data sharing.
The FamiLock E40 serves as the flagship model, combining a smart lock with a 2K video doorbell and facial recognition for hands-free unlocking. It also features a fingerprint reader and integrates with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings, priced at $299.99. The FamiLock E35 offers palm recognition as an alternative biometric method that scans veins without contact and avoids facial data collection, selling for $300. The entry-level FamiLock E32 provides fingerprint access and app compatibility for $139.99 but lacks advanced face or palm features. All models process algorithms locally on the device to keep biometric information private and free from cloud transmission. They are currently available at Home Depot, with an expected expansion to Amazon in July.
