Evenplay launched a new handicapping system on Thursday for golfers using simulators and high-tech platforms. The Evenplay Index provides a standardized way to measure ability across players of varying skill levels in alt-golf settings.
The AI-powered platform evaluates shots hit on launch monitors and simulators to generate a skill rating from 1 to 100. It then converts that rating into a handicap tailored to the specific platform.
Sign-up is free and automatic upon creating an account with affiliated operators. A reliable assessment can be established after roughly the first 10 shots, with ratings locked during competitions.
Sameer Gupta, Evenplay co-founder, said the system addresses a gap left by traditional handicaps built for rated courses. The company has partnered with Full Swing, X-Golf, AboutGolf, Dryvebox, Indoor Golf Alliance and Women’s Golf Club.
Those partnerships could eventually cover more than 200,000 simulator bays and practice stations. Evenplay, founded in early 2025, developed the index from its earlier work on skill-based competitions.
