A 45-year-old man in Florida faces charges after allegedly threatening to murder his girlfriend during a drunken confrontation in front of her 10-year-old son.
William Adam Lamkin was arrested Tuesday in Broward County and charged with domestic assault, domestic battery and resisting an officer with violence.
Deputies responded shortly before 7:30 p.m. to a home on Red Heart Lane in Tamarac after the boy's father called 911. The child told officers that his mother had returned with alcohol and that an argument with Lamkin turned physical, with the man grabbing her shirt and threatening to murder her.
The mother later confirmed the threat to deputies and said she believed Lamkin would carry it out. She also described his history of domestic violence in prior relationships. Lamkin returned to the scene while deputies were present, became confrontational and was taken into custody after refusing commands.
A judge set his bond at $32,500. It was not immediately clear when he was scheduled to return to court.
