The French Open has announced its 2026 wildcard entries, handing main-draw spots to veterans Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils. Venus Williams was not selected for the singles draw but may appear in a commentary role. Several other players received updates on their preparations ahead of qualifying, which begins May 18.
The tournament confirmed the wildcards on May 11. Wawrinka, the 2015 champion ranked No. 125, and Monfils, a former world No. 6 ranked No. 222, will both compete in Paris during what are expected to be their final seasons on tour. David Goffin, another veteran ending his career, was instead placed in the qualifying draw.
