Thomas Faurel, the 20-year-old nephew of Coco Gauff’s coach, has qualified for the main draw at Roland Garros after winning three straight matches in the qualifiers.
Faurel, ranked No. 382, defeated Genaro Alberto Olivieri 7-6, 6-3, Jay Clarke 6-4, 6-3 and Dalibor Svrcina 6-2, 6-3 without dropping a set. The victories secured his first appearance in a Grand Slam main draw and made him the second-youngest Frenchman to achieve the feat at the French Open this century.
