Former WWE star Goldberg discussed his real-life tensions with Triple H during a recent interview. He described their mutual dislike dating back before his 2003 WWE debut and noted that business ultimately prevailed.
Goldberg spoke with "Going Ringside" about the strained relationship that predated his arrival in WWE. He said he and Triple H "couldn't stand each other" and referenced a prior confrontation while sharing the same agent. Goldberg also noted the added complication of Triple H's marriage to Vince McMahon's daughter at the time.
The two later feuded on screen after Goldberg's debut match against The Rock. Goldberg lost to Triple H in an Elimination Chamber match at SummerSlam before defeating him for the World Heavyweight Championship at Unforgiven.
His title reign ended after 84 days when Triple H won it back at Armageddon. Goldberg did not hold another WWE title until defeating Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship at Fastlane in 2017.
Goldberg added that he now respects Triple H, saying "at the end of the day he's a good guy."
