Goldie Hawn is eyeing a return to acting six years after her last role. She revealed that daughter Kate Hudson has proposed writing a script for them to star in together. Hawn called the idea of a full family film 'lots of fun.'
Goldie Hawn, absent from screens since 2020, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with her daughter Kate Hudson on a movie. Hudson has suggested writing a script for the pair, an idea Hawn welcomed in an interview with People. “I would love that,” Hawn said. “And the two of us have thought a lot about it.” She envisioned a project including partner Kurt Russell and sons Oliver Hudson and Wyatt Russell, noting it would be “lots of fun” and “so crazy.” Despite the appeal, Hawn cautioned, “We’re never going to do it, but ... Never say never, because that could happen at any time.”Hawn emphasized that quality content drives her interest in acting. “It’s about the content,” she explained. She has reviewed many scripts but seeks material that excites her, such as something “really cool, funny” where the character is “so crazy” and “so interesting.” Hawn reflected on her acclaimed career, from her debut on the 1967-68 sitcom Good Morning World and Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In to Oscar-winning role in Cactus Flower (1969) and films like Private Benjamin (1980) and The First Wives Club (1996).Though Hawn and Hudson have not shared the screen, Hawn has a history of family projects with Russell, starting from their 1968 meeting on The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. The couple later co-starred in Swing Shift (1984), Overboard (1987), and The Christmas Chronicles films (2018, 2020), with Oliver Hudson in the latter two.
