The government has warned opposition leaders against exploiting Gen-Z protests for political gain during June 25 commemorations.
The government has stressed that Thursday will be a regular working day and warned against violence or looting during protests planned to mark two years since the 2024 events.
Police spokesperson Isaac Mwaura said officers will act against those planning unrest and that demonstrations must remain peaceful under Article 37 of the Constitution.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the government will not tolerate misuse of the protests and that everyone will be protected by law regardless of participation.
President William Ruto announced last week that Sh2 billion has been allocated for victim compensation while the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights has documented 1,500 affected individuals.
