Serikali imewaonya viongozi wa upinzani dhidi ya kutumia maandamano ya Gen-Z kwa manufaa ya kisiasa wakati wa maadhimisho ya Juni 25.

Serikali imesisitiza kuwa Alhamisi itakuwa siku ya kawaida ya kazi na imeonya dhidi ya ghasia au uporaji wakati wa maandamano yaliyopangwa kuadhimisha miaka miwili tangu matukio ya 2024.

Msemaji wa polisi Isaac Mwaura alisema polisi watachukua hatua dhidi ya wale wanaopanga vurugu na kwamba maandamano lazima yawe ya amani kulingana na kifungu cha 37 cha katiba.

Naibu Rais Kithure Kindiki alisema serikali haitavumilia matumizi mabaya ya maandamano hayo na kwamba kila mtu atalindwa na sheria bila kujali ushiriki wake.

Rais William Ruto alitangaza wiki iliyopita kuwa Sh2 bilioni zimetengwa kwa ajili ya fidia ya wahanga huku Tume ya Kitaifa ya Haki za Binadamu ikirekodi waathiriwa 1,500.
