A truck and a car collided head-on on E14 near Åre on Thursday evening. Both vehicles caught fire after the collision. One person was airlifted to hospital.
The alarm reached SOS Alarm around 18:40 on April 30. A truck and a car had a head-on collision on E14 near Åre and Ånn in Åre municipality. Both vehicles caught fire, and rescue services arrived with six vehicles.
One person was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter. The injury status is unknown, with no reports of additional casualties. Ola Nilsson, team leader at SOS Alarm, said: "It is burning in both vehicles, so far one person has been taken to hospital by helicopter, and an ambulance is still on site."
The road is closed in both directions. Rescue services are focusing on preventing the fire from spreading to the truck's cargo and expect to remain for another two hours from 20:00. Trafikverket estimates the road will reopen around 23:00, with all six rescue vehicles still on site at 21:50.
