Video footage captured Stephens walking with two women when a dispute arose with another woman wearing a hat, leading to shoves and punches among the group. A 35-year-old bystander in a black shirt intervened by pushing Stephens and throwing a punch, escalating into a fight that moved to the parking lot where gunshots rang out. Stephens shot the man twice in the abdomen, once in the thigh, and once in the arm, mistaking the victim's cellphone for a weapon as he tried to record the scene, according to details from the trial. The bystander survived after three surgeries but said he will never walk the same. The victim told the court, 'What happened to me was a moment of horrific violence that changed my life forever... Logan shot me not once, not twice, but four times.' He described the emotional toll on his children, who now suffer anxiety when he leaves home. Stephens apologized in court, saying, 'I want to apologize to [the victim] and say I'm sorry for my reaction and the pain that I've caused him. This has been the hardest thing I've ever dealt with in my life.'
