The National Sports Institute did not authorize Estadio Nacional for BTS concerts scheduled for October. The government is seeking alternatives in the same area.
The National Sports Institute issued a statement on July 2, 2026 rejecting the use of Estadio Nacional’s central coliseum for BTS concerts on October 14, 16 and 17. The decision rested on a technical report warning about the impact of a central 360° stage on the hybrid natural grass field.
The IND text stated that the pitch has reduced recovery capacity for large-scale interventions requiring prolonged coverage and concentrated loads in the central sector. It also cited the need to protect sports commitments such as official matches and Teletón 2026.
Biminister Claudio Alvarado confirmed that alternative locations within the same radius of Estadio Nacional have been offered and the situation is under evaluation. Los Cóndores head coach Pablo Lemoine supported the measure and said sports infrastructure must be prioritized for sport.
