The Embassy of India in Cairo launched a series of events to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2026. These activities highlight cultural ties between India and Egypt while promoting yoga for health and well-being. Observed annually on June 21, the day encourages physical and mental wellness.
Past events included a May 22 gathering at Al Nasr Sporting Club with over 300 participants under Ambassador Suresh Reddy. Additional sessions took place on June 2 in Ismailia, June 4 in Cairo, June 5 at Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria, and June 10 for media representatives.
A cartoon competition drew 210 entries from 33 countries. Events scheduled for June 13 at Al Ahly Club and June 15 at Egypt Public Library will lead to the flagship session at 7 a.m. on June 21 at the Giza Pyramids using the common yoga protocol.
