Ipswich appoint Gary O'Neil as head coach

Ipswich Town have confirmed Gary O'Neil as their new head coach on a three-year contract. The 43-year-old replaces Kieran McKenna, who stepped down earlier this month.

Ipswich Town have confirmed the appointment of Gary O’Neil as their new head coach. The former Wolves and Bournemouth manager has signed a three-year contract at Portman Road.

O’Neil arrives from French side Strasbourg, where he spent the second half of last season in charge. Ipswich paid a fee of around £4.3 million to complete the deal. He will be joined by coaches Tim Jenkins and Neil Critchley.

O’Neil said it is an honour to be appointed manager of this great football club. He added that he wants his teams to express themselves when they have the ball and that the ambition is to keep growing.

Ipswich will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Sunderland on 22 August.
