Jack Wamboka removed from public investments committee

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka has been removed from the Public Investments Committee one month after his suspension over bribery allegations.

In changes to National Assembly committees, Wamboka has been moved to the National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities Committee. Luanda MP Dick Maungu is expected to be confirmed as the new PIC chair.

Speaker Moses Wetang’ula suspended Wamboka last month after the National Cohesion and Integration Commission claimed its officials were humiliated and asked for bribes. Wamboka denied the claims, saying he was being punished for demanding accountability.

Other shifts affected allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, including John Mukunji and several MPs moved to less influential committees.
