Astros All-Star shortstop Jeremy Peña missed Monday's game with general left leg discomfort. Espada said Peña arrived at the ballpark feeling the issue and was evaluated immediately.
Peña entered the day hitting .295 on the season with six home runs and 21 RBIs. He had posted a .307 average since returning from an earlier right hamstring strain on May 18.
Nick Allen was activated from the 10-day injured list and started at shortstop in Peña's place. Allen had been sidelined since June 8 with a left hamstring strain.
