Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joe Haden said the team's offense will be much improved this season with Mike McCarthy calling plays. Haden made the comments Tuesday during an appearance on his Deebo and Joe podcast.
Haden expressed strong optimism about the Steelers' potential under McCarthy. He said the offense could be "light-years better" and described it as "unbelievable" if the unit stays disciplined and establishes the run game.
The former player highlighted quarterback Aaron Rodgers' ability to connect with receivers such as Michael Pittman Jr., DK Metcalf, Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington. Haden noted that Rodgers' prior success with prolific offenses in Green Bay supports the outlook.
McCarthy previously led offenses for the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2018 and the Dallas Cowboys from 2020 to 2024, where his units frequently ranked among the league's best in scoring. The Steelers have not had a losing season since 2003 but have struggled to develop consistent offensive production since Ben Roethlisberger retired.
