Joe Wright is attached to direct a feature film adaptation of Tim Winton's post-apocalyptic novel Juice for Working Title Films. Abi Morgan will write the screenplay.
Two-time BAFTA-winning filmmaker Joe Wright is set to helm the project. Working Title has optioned the rights to the novel and enlisted BAFTA and Emmy winner Abi Morgan to adapt it.
The story is set in a fractured world after a climate-change disaster. It follows a young husband and father recruited into a secret resistance group targeting wealthy culprits behind the catastrophe.
Wright recently directed The Agency for Showtime and Paramount+. His previous films include Atonement, Pride & Prejudice, Anna Karenina, Darkest Hour, Hanna and The Soloist.
Wright said he was thrilled that Winton entrusted him with the story. Winton said he was pleased a filmmaker of Wright's caliber had chosen to adapt Juice.
