JUNTU Technologies Trading PLC has opened a new showroom and service center in Addis Ababa for Omoda and Jaecoo electric vehicles from Chery Group.
The facility, located in the Nifas Silk Lafto sub-city, began operations over the weekend. It offers vehicle sales, maintenance, and spare parts in one location.
Lucas, Country Director for Chery Group, said the Ethiopian government's policies have created opportunities for global manufacturers. JUNTU General Manager Kende noted the center will create jobs and build technical skills for local workers.
The company can supply up to 10,000 electric vehicles per month. Omoda models are priced at 5.9 million Birr and Jaecoo models at 5.58 million Birr. Ethiopia has stopped imports of gasoline and diesel vehicles and offers tax incentives for electric models.
