The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority has predicted rainfall in approximately 20 counties from Friday, June 26 to Tuesday, June 30.
The forecast covers counties in the Lake Victoria basin, Rift Valley and Western regions. These include Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected on most days, with rainfall likely in several places on Friday and Monday before reducing to a few areas on other days. Central counties such as Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Nairobi may see showers in a few places.
Night temperatures could fall to 5°C in parts of the Central region, while daytime temperatures there range between 25°C and 27°C. In the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria basin and Western areas, daytime highs are forecast at 29°C to 31°C with nights at 9°C to 11°C.
