KMTC opens deferment window for students who missed March intake

The Kenya Medical Training College announced on May 12 that it has opened a deferment window for students admitted during the March 2026 intake who failed to report. Affected students can now shift their admission to the September 2026 intake through an online process.

The college stated that students who missed the March intake for various reasons can defer their studies by logging into the admissions portal at admissions.ac.ke. They must select the deferment option from the dropdown menu, provide the required details and submit the request.

Once submitted, the status stays as submitted until the admissions office reviews it. Students will then receive a text message indicating whether the deferment has been approved or declined.

This move follows the closure of an earlier emergency placement window through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service. Students whose requests are approved will begin classes in September alongside the new intake of students.
