The stars of the 2001 comedy Legally Blonde gathered in New York City on Saturday for a reunion marking the film's 25th anniversary. The event also promoted the upcoming Prime Video prequel series Elle, set to premiere July 1.
Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair, Ali Larter, Matthew Davis and Victor Garber joined new cast members at Hall Des Lumieres. Musicians Hoku and Vanessa Carlton also attended.
Witherspoon grew emotional while praising Lexi Minetree, who stars as the young Elle Woods. She described Minetree's audition tape and said she was proud to pass the pink torch to the new lead.
Coolidge recalled mistakenly thinking she was auditioning for the role of Elle Woods herself. The panel was moderated by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.
Additional cast members from the series include Zac Looker, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, Gabrielle Policano, Tom Everett Scott and June Diane Raphael. Executive producer Lauren Neustadter was also present.
