Lenovo has withdrawn its G02 handheld from all markets after reports emerged of the device being sold with pre-installed copyrighted games.
The $60 G02, a Game Boy-like emulator, drew attention in late May when Retro Dodo noted its sale outside China with dozens of Nintendo and Sega titles pre-loaded on an SD card.
Lenovo initially stated that the device was intended only for the China market through a regional licensing deal and was not part of its official global lineup. The company later faced further scrutiny when the product reappeared under the name Sunyao G02 Handheld.
As of early July the device has been removed from marketplaces including AliExpress. Lenovo confirmed in a statement that the G02 was produced under a China-only agreement and did not belong to its global product portfolio.
