A low pressure area brought rain and prompted class suspensions across parts of the Visayas and Southern Luzon on June 30, 2026.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the low pressure area was located over the coastal waters of San Pascual, Masbate, at 3 a.m. on June 30. It has a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours.

If it develops, it would be named Henry and Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 may be raised over parts of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said.

Classes were suspended in all levels in Magdalena, Pagsanjan, Santa Cruz, and other towns in Laguna and Romblon province. In Negros Oriental, face-to-face classes were suspended in Siaton and Zamboanguita.

The southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect Palawan.
