Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated and inspected several industrial projects in Alexandria's Borg El Arab zone on Sunday.
The tour covered the opening of the Jade Textile ready-made garments factory, expansion works at Shahinler Egypt, a new production line at Lipton Teas and Infusions Egypt, the first phase of El Gharably Industrial Complex, and an inspection of Alstom’s industrial complex. Madbouly said during the tour that industry remains a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth. Jade Textile, part of Türkiye-based Yesim Group, targets annual exports of $250m to $500m and employs more than 6,000 workers at its Alexandria site. Shahinler Egypt added 1,500 direct jobs through its expansion and plans exports of $55m in 2026. Lipton Teas and Infusions Egypt, operating since 1992, will export its first shipment from the factory to Australia this week. El Gharably’s first phase includes a steel structures factory with capacity exceeding 100,000 tons annually. Alstom’s project, aimed at localizing railway manufacturing, is 52% complete with one factory due in October 2026.
