Major League Baseball and its clubs plan to mark Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, with a National Moment of Remembrance and special uniform elements. The observance will include pauses during games and tributes to fallen service members.
All on-field personnel will wear a traditional Memorial red poppy on the left side of their jerseys, accompanied by the phrase “Lest We Forget.” The uniforms will not be available for retail sale. Games active at 3:00 p.m. local time will pause for an extended moment of silence, while other contests will hold a moment of silence before the U.S. National Anthem. Teams and umpiring crews will decide the exact timing and format of each observance.
