Marcia Lucas, the film editor who won an Oscar for Star Wars, died May 27 of cancer in Rancho Mirage, California. She was 80.
Her family’s attorney confirmed the news to the San Francisco Chronicle. Lucas edited the 1977 film directed by her then-husband George Lucas and earned an Oscar nomination for American Graffiti in 1973. She also edited Return of the Jedi along with several Martin Scorsese films including Taxi Driver.
