Mexico prepares for sixth technological revolution with 2026 AI congress

The 11th Congreso IA America Digital Mexico 2026 will take place on June 9 and 10 at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, gathering over 5,000 leaders from 22 countries to explore the convergence of AI, Web3, and exponential technologies. The event aims to position Mexico to capitalize on the structural changes driven by the Sixth Technological Revolution, which started around 2017 and will have its greatest impact by 2030.

Mexico and Central America are at a historic turning point with the Sixth Technological Revolution, marked by the fusion of artificial intelligence, Web3, cloud, and exponential technologies reshaping industries and economies. This cycle, emerging around 2017, redefines productive models roughly every 50 years, with deeper effects by 2030, encompassing web decentralization, intelligent automation, and a collaborative economy.

Nationally, the AI market is projected to hit 450 million dollars in 2025, with key uses in banking, health, retail, and telecommunications. Widespread adoption could boost GDP by up to 2.8% through enhanced productivity and operational efficiency.

The Congreso IA America Digital Mexico 2026, as the leading regional forum, will feature an expo spanning over 20,000 m² with 200 stands from providers like Google Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Salesforce, and Microsoft, showcasing solutions in AI, Big Data, Blockchain, IoT, and 5G. It will also host more than 100 conferences across seven specialized forums on digital transformation, marketing, banking, fintech, Industry 4.0, blockchain, and Web3, featuring speakers from Siemens, Telefónica Tech, L’Oréal, and others.

High-value networking will be enabled via an app for one-on-one meetings among leaders. David Ruiz from Google Cloud notes: “The need for change is in all areas of organizations. Thanks to AI, people now have access to knowledge to make better decisions, and that's what has accelerated processes across all industries.”

This gathering solidifies Mexico's role as a regional tech hub, equipping the country to thrive in the digital economy.
