Hong Kong boy band Mirror member Stanley Yau Sze-chun lost his iPhone on Tuesday while riding a motorcycle, with the tracker later showing it had crossed into Shenzhen.
Yau said in a social media post that the phone slipped from his pocket. He initially located it at Cheung Yin Building on Cheung Sha Wan Road in Sham Shui Po.
By Saturday the tracker showed the device had crossed the border to Huafa South Road in Futian district, Shenzhen.
Yau made a public appeal: “Dear, my iPhone 13 Pro is worth nothing. How about just returning it to me?”
Information technology experts noted that retrieving lost or stolen devices from mainland China can be difficult.
