Moncler has teased a new collaboration with Rick Owens as part of its Spring/Summer 2027 sneaker lineup.
The Italian brand presented the Moncler Trailgrip Megalace boots by Rick Owens at an event held at its new global headquarters, Casa Moncler. The boots feature the designer's signature Megalace lacing technique, which creates a pentagram pattern using extra-long laces and metal hooks.
Rick Owens described the inspiration behind the Megalace style as coming from Joseph Beuys' 1965 performance art piece How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare. "It was one of the first art moments I encountered that formed who I am today," Owens said. "That mix of industrial construction, shamanistic ceremony bordering on pagan hallucination is still what keeps me going."
Additional collaborations planned for next summer include versions with Clarks, Moon Boot, and Fragment Design. These will apply different treatments to Moncler's Trailgrip outdoor sneaker range.
