M.O.T.H.E.R., a new collaborative project led by Robbie Furze of The Big Pink with Jamie Hince of The Kills and Jamie T, has released its self-titled debut EP.
The band formed after Furze and Hince each lost a parent, with the musicians supporting one another during that period. Furze described the project as emerging from a mix of personal loss and a desire for camaraderie among friends.
In their first major interview, the group said they aim to create music like the guitar version of N.E.R.D., with a shifting lineup for future releases. The EP includes the tracks Real Human, Traitor and Surrender, following the earlier single My Love.
Furze and Hince recorded between studios in London and Los Angeles. They expressed interest in working with artists including Zach Hill of Death Grips and Skream on upcoming material. Live shows are planned, with the possibility of different collaborators joining in various locations.
