Ratty, a GPU-rendered terminal emulator written in Rust, has introduced unusual 3D features to the command line. The tool uses the Bevy game engine to display a spinning rat as the default cursor and supports interactive 3D modes.
Developers can switch to 3D mode with the shortcut CTRL+ALT+Enter, where the terminal window becomes a manipulable scene. Additional controls allow users to warp the output into shapes such as a Mobius strip using CTRL+ALT+M. The project also includes inline 3D objects anchored to text cells and live 2D-to-3D drawing previews in split panes.
