Nick Cave delivered a transformative concert as headliner of the Mad Cool festival in Madrid on July 11, 2026.
The veteran Australian rocker closed the fourth and final day of the Mad Cool festival with a performance described as a collective celebration and mystical experience. Nick Cave roamed the stage grabbing hands, looking into the eyes of the audience and encouraging them to sing along with the gospel quartet that accompanied him.
The setlist included songs from Wild God, Carnage and Ghosteen, plus classics like The Mercy Seat, Red Right Hand and Into My Arms. The concert ended with the latter ballad performed solo at the piano, uplifting the souls of the 58,000 people present.
The festival marked its tenth anniversary in 2026 with all tickets sold and no incidents. Nick Cave, alongside the Bad Seeds, extended his tour through Spain following 2024 dates in Madrid and Barcelona.
