Performers including Halsey, Pixies, Cliffords and Interpol took the stage on the third day of Mad Cool Festival 2026 in Madrid. The July 10 shows featured alternative and rock acts amid a crowd of 53,000. Twenty One Pilots closed the night with stunts and pyrotechnics.
Halsey opened the day at 6.55pm on the Region of Madrid stage. She demanded audience participation and performed rock-leaning tracks including 'Nightmare' and 'I Am Not A Woman, I’m A God', along with a riff-heavy version of 'Closer'.
Pixies followed at 8.20pm with a set of fan favourites such as 'Debaser' and 'Monkey Gone To Heaven'. The band returned to the festival after four years and focused on raw, gritty renditions.
Cliffords played at 9.45pm on the Mahou Cinco Estrellas stage. Frontwoman Iona Lynch addressed the Irish contingent in the crowd during songs like 'My Favourite Monster' and new tracks 'Horses And Divorces' and 'Off My Back'.
Interpol performed after midnight on the Orange Stage. Paul Banks highlighted the band's purpose with tracks from the upcoming album 'This Mirror Weighs A Ton' and classics including 'Evil' and 'Slow Hands'. Matt Barrick of The Walkmen joined on drums.
Twenty One Pilots headlined and incorporated the Spain World Cup victory into their set. The duo delivered stunts, fireworks and songs such as 'Stressed Out' and 'Ride'.
