A Muskogee County jury found Cherie Dawn Walker guilty last week of enabling child sexual abuse and child neglect. The 34-year-old mother faces a possible life sentence on each of seven counts.
The convictions stem from a case in which Walker's 11-year-old daughter gave birth at home in 2025 without medical care. Prosecutors said DNA testing showed a 99 percent certainty that Walker's husband, Dustin Joel Walker, was the father.
Dustin Walker pleaded guilty earlier this year to sexual abuse of a child under 12 and six counts of child neglect. In June, a judge sentenced him to life in prison plus 42 years.
Cherie Walker was convicted of one count of enabling child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect. Jurors recommended life sentences on each count, with the final decision left to the trial judge.
The victim's maternal grandmother, Michelle Justus, faces a separate child neglect charge and is scheduled to go to trial on July 23.
