The Green Bay Packers believe pass rusher Micah Parsons suffered a torn ACL during their Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos. The non-contact knee injury occurred in the third quarter on Sunday. Further testing is required to confirm the diagnosis.
Micah Parsons went down holding his left knee after planting awkwardly while pursuing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix on a first-and-10 play in the third quarter. The four-time Pro Bowler immediately grabbed at his knee and remained on the turf for several moments as trainers attended to him. Players from both teams knelt around him in support before he walked to the locker room with medical staff.
At the time of the injury, the Packers were leading 23-21, but Denver drove down the field and scored a touchdown shortly after to take a 27-23 lead. Parsons had recorded two tackles, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble before exiting the game.
Entering the matchup, Parsons led the Packers with 12.5 sacks on the season, along with 39 tackles, 26 quarterback hits, and a forced fumble. He became the first player since sacks became an official statistic in 1982 to start a career with five seasons of at least 12 sacks.
The Packers acquired Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys this offseason in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks. Green Bay then signed him to a four-year, $188 million contract extension, viewing him as a key factor in their Super Bowl aspirations. The team now faces the possibility of finishing the 2025 season without their sack leader.
