Sony's State of Play event on Tuesday showcased more than 20 games, highlighting narrative-driven titles including a new God of War starring Faye and fresh Wolverine combat footage.
The presentation, held on June 2, 2026, opened with Insomniac Games' Wolverine, revealing brutal melee combat against Reavers. The PS5 exclusive launches September 15 for $70, with preorders now available. A surprise 20-minute gameplay segment closed the show for God of War: Laufey. The title stars Kratos' wife Faye, voiced by Deborah Ann Woll, as she awakens in the Everywhen afterlife realm and battles gods from Egyptian and Mongolian mythologies using a sentient cube companion. Other announcements included release dates for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 25, Control Resonant on September 24, and Until Dawn 2 in 2027. A 30-minute demo for Onimusha became available immediately. Sony emphasized single-player experiences over live-service games, avoiding any mention of GTA 6, which is scheduled for November 19.
