President Marcos conferred the Order of Sikatuna, Rank of Datu with Grand Cross Gold Distinction, on South Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa during a farewell call at Malacañang yesterday.
The award honors Lee's role in elevating Philippines-South Korea relations to a strategic partnership. This followed reciprocal state visits and Marcos' attendance at the October 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Gyeongju.
Marcos thanked Lee for service during a transformative period across political, economic, security and cultural sectors. Lee expressed gratitude for the warmth and cooperation received from the President and Filipino people.
