The Béziers prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday the reopening of a sexual assault investigation targeting the father of Jérôme B., the main suspect in the death of Lyhanna.
The Béziers prosecutor decided to reopen the case to carry out additional checks, in light of recent events. The procedure had been closed in 2020 by the same office, as the offense appeared insufficiently characterized. Jérôme B. played no role in this matter, the prosecutor's office specifies. The facts concern a minor from the father's family environment and allegedly occurred between 2010 and 2013. Another procedure for the rape of a granddaughter in 2013 had ended with a dismissal in 2021. The Montpellier Court of Appeal noted the withdrawal of the appeal in April 2022.
