The Ministry of Health reported that positivity of respiratory samples reached 52% during epidemiological week 23, the highest figure of the year. Influenza A remains the predominant virus, though with a slight decline.
According to the weekly report of the 2026 Winter Campaign, Influenza A accounted for 29.9% of detected cases between June 7 and 13. Rhinovirus ranked second at 23.4%, while Influenza B rose to third place at 19.2%.
Influenza vaccination coverage reached 74.5%, with 7,743,018 doses administered. Health workers exceed 95% coverage, but children aged six months to five years, pregnant women and those over 60 show lower rates.
In the pediatric critical care bed network, occupancy reached 73.1%, and 33% of those hospitalized in those beds have respiratory conditions. Emergency visits for respiratory causes increased to 36.5% compared with the previous week.
