Restored lakes in Hyderabad set for inauguration on March 6

Hyderabad's efforts to revive its water bodies continue with the upcoming inauguration of two restored lakes under the Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA). The historic Bam Rukn-ud-Daula Lake, located in Shivarampally, and Nalla Cheruvu in Kukatpally, form part of this lake rejuvenation initiative.

A statement from HYDRAA indicates that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to open Bam Rukn-ud-Daula Lake on Friday, March 6, 2026. This event marks the reopening of the lake to the public after restoration works. Nalla Cheruvu will be inaugurated a couple of days later, further advancing the agency's goals in protecting and enhancing Hyderabad's assets against disasters.
