Riley Greene collected three hits and drove in four runs to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
The Tigers left fielder went 3-for-4 and came within a double of hitting for the cycle. Greene added a two-run homer in the fourth inning and a two-run triple in the fifth.
Detroit improved to 40-50 on the season and took two of three games in the series. The team went 5-1 on its six-game road trip and holds the best record in the American League since June 1.
Casey Mize earned the win after allowing two runs over 6 2/3 innings. Kenley Jansen recorded his 10th save of the year with a perfect ninth inning.
"I got pitches I could handle and found the barrel," Greene said after the game. "I'm feeling good and seeing it well."
