Samsung expands micro RGB TVs to smaller screen sizes

Samsung is broadening its Micro RGB TV lineup to include models starting at 55 inches, promising superior color accuracy through advanced LED technology. The new range features enhanced dimming precision and achieves 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut. Additional capabilities include glare-free viewing and AI-driven features, with more details expected at CES 2026.

Samsung has announced an expansion of its Micro RGB TV series, introducing smaller screen sizes to make the high-end technology more accessible. Previously limited to larger formats, the lineup now includes 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch, 100-inch, and 115-inch models. This move comes ahead of CES 2026, where the company plans to showcase the updates.

The core innovation lies in the TVs' RGB backlight, composed of tiny red, green, and blue LEDs. Samsung claims this setup enables ultra-precise light control and improved color accuracy, supported by 'enhanced RGB color dimming precision.' The displays are said to cover 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut, delivering vibrant and true-to-life visuals.

For enhanced usability, the TVs incorporate Glare Free technology, which improves performance in brightly lit rooms—a feature borrowed from Samsung's OLED models. Audio options have been upgraded with the new Eclipsa standard, providing immersive sound. AI functionalities round out the package, including Live Translate for real-time subtitles, Generative Wallpaper for custom backgrounds, and onscreen search for easy navigation.

Samsung is not alone in this space; LG has also revealed plans for RGB micro LED TVs at CES 2026. Pricing remains undisclosed, though earlier Micro RGB models retailed for around $30,000. Full availability and cost details are anticipated when CES begins on January 6, 2026.

This expansion aims to bring premium micro LED benefits to a wider audience, potentially challenging competitors in the premium TV market.
