The Argentine football club announced the recovery of 8,345 square meters on Avenida La Plata through an agreement with the Buenos Aires city government.
Provisional president Sergio Costantino made the announcement on Tuesday. The land transfer, previously owned by Carrefour, was completed through the Corporación Buenos Aires Sur for a 50-year term.
The agreement includes conditions such as sports scholarships, construction of sports fields and a green corridor. If 20% progress on the stadium is not reached within ten years, the club must return the land.
Costantino stated that the deal “will remain with the club regardless of the elections”. The operation will be ratified in an assembly on June 16.
