A Palo Alto security firm says it built a working macOS exploit in five days with help from Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview. The researchers met Apple officials at Apple Park to discuss the findings.
Researchers at Calif, a company based in Palo Alto, designed a privilege escalation exploit for macOS with assistance from Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview. The tool identified known classes of vulnerabilities quickly, though human expertise remained essential to complete the code. The resulting exploit grants access to normally restricted parts of a MacBook, allowing an attacker to take control of the device on M5 silicon.
