The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service reported over 70 homes affected by a frontal system impacting regions between Maule and Los Lagos.
SENAPRED delivered an update until 16:30 hours on Wednesday with the damage count. In La Araucanía one home with major damage and 26 with minor damage were recorded. In Los Ríos one home was destroyed, two suffered major damage and 43 had minor impact.
Intense rains since Tuesday caused road cuts and connectivity issues in communes such as Corral, where a mudslide was reported. The Isla Teja station in Valdivia recorded 193.8 mm of precipitation between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Interior Undersecretary Máximo Pavez ruled out a constitutional state of exception for now. Yellow alert remains in La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Los Lagos, and early preventive alert was declared in the O’Higgins Region and ten communes of the Metropolitan Region.
