Skullcandy has released its new flagship Crusher 1080 over-ear headphones, incorporating Bose technology for active noise cancellation and audio tuning at a price of around $270.
The headphones combine the company's signature haptic bass with Bose QuietControl ANC, TrueSpatial directional audio and WaveForm tuning. Battery life reaches 60 hours without ANC or 50 hours with it active, and the model supports multipoint Bluetooth along with wired connections.
Physical controls include a large dial for haptic bass intensity and a switch for ANC or transparency modes. The design uses an over-ear form with metal accents on the headband.
Reviewers noted improved sound balance compared to prior Skullcandy models and strong noise cancellation that outperforms some mid-range competitors. The product occupies a unique position by pairing premium audio elements with the distinctive bass feature.
